VIMS conducts a Full-time MBA Programme that spans for duration of two years. The Programme is affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai. The choice of electives by each student in the programme should complement the career objectives of the student concerned. After completing the first year, customization of MBA curriculum is possible by choosing electives that establish depth in a particular area, or make obvious an enjoyable perspective of business principles that encompasses several functions. Out-bound Training Programmes are organized as a part of the MBA package. To gain practical exposure to the industry, students also undergo a Summer Internship for 6 to 8 weeks as well as a project for 6 months.

Students are assigned to visit sector based companies of their interest and take up periodical training by monthly to keep them exposed the current happenings of the sectors. The Field Training Programme enables the students to grasp the field realities and practiced problems and to develop the attributes and expertise required by the industry. A practical corporate scan and report presentation is also engaged with a faculty and corporate guide.

VIMS Counselling Cell offers and facilitates opportunities to students and staff towards their personal development. Personal Counseling focuses on developing students self confidence when they were down and emotionally affected. These efforts have helps them overcome not only their emotional and learning difficulties and also to develop their personal and social skills.

The mentoring class is conducted for the students to enhance their skills in the area of communication, interpersonal, and general awareness. For this purpose each mentor (faculty member) is assigned a small group of students and they will have a scheduled meeting. The mentor will closely interact with the mentees and give feedback to them on their activities, which will help them to improve their skill-sets. The mentoring activity encourages the students to be more active and participative by instilling the confidence in them. Apart from that if students need more attention in any academic subjects, they are given special attention through remedial classes.
